Gifts That Worth Out For Hyperactive Children

Every child has a different set of likes and dislikes, the following gifts will more than likely work for most children.

Outdoor Games-

It’s good for all kids, hyperactive or not, to get outside and play and let off steam.  Outdoor games will help a high energy child burn off that energy.  Something as simple as a jump rope with a book of different ways to jump rope and/or songs to sing while jumping would make an excellent gift.  There are many books on jumping rope that would be appropriate. Depending on your budget a mini-trampoline, a volleyball set, badminton set, pogo stick, hula hoop, roller skates or a scooter are all possibilities.  All of these will help a child be active and meet that energetic need.

Exercise Video Games-

If the birthday boy or girl has a Wii or Xbox with the Kinect feature, an exercise game such as Wii Fit Plus or Kinect Sports,  would be an excellent, albeit expensive gift.  Most of these games run between forty and sixty dollars. His or her parents would be thankful and grateful to you on a rainy or snowy day  when their child can exercise indoors.

Indoor Games-

There are outdoor games that have been made into indoor games such as hopscotch.  This is a great way for kids to get moving when the weather isn’t good.  Games like Twister and Toss Across are also lively and physical so these would be good games for hyperactive kids.

Musical Instruments-

A spirited child will probably love some sort of musical instrument.  Think of bongo drums or even, if your budget allows, a drum set.  Channeling their pent up energy in a musical way will probably be good for them, although it might drive their parents crazy.  You might want to check with the parents before purchasing such a gift because it really might annoy them.  Imagine, though, giving a child a way to positively cope with their high energy level and giving them the gift of a love for music.  You can’t beat that.

Ways to Quiet Down-

Gifts which encourage energetic small people to calm down are also an option.  Peaceful, calming music is something to think about.  Classical music and music meant for meditation might be useful to parents trying to get kids ready for bed.  A CD and a special stuffed animal, depending on the age of the birthday child, of course, would be a great gift.

Overall-

Choosing a gift for a hyperactive child can be tricky but basically, it’s just like buying a gift for any child. Keep the child’s likes and dislikes in mind and when in doubt check with the parents and you should end up with a great gift.
